Mount Charleston Gets Flood Control Project
Gov. Brian Sandoval on Monday announced that a flood control project will be built near the washed-out Rainbow subdivision on Mount Charleston. Sandoval said construction is expected to begin in several weeks.
The governor’s announcement comes after a flash flood on July 28 washed out Clark County roads and flooded homes, causing some $2 million in damage. The Rainbow subdivision was left vulnerable to flooding and mudslides after the Carpenter 1 Fire burned almost 28,000 acres in the summer of 2013.
